Description

A painting of my character Morgan prowling about in a dark forest. I finally got around to repainting this piece as it should have been done a year ago. The red shine is an attribute of the metal, that's not blood. There's a lot of symbolism in this, like his sword dragging shadows, that I won't explain. You can find the original concept sketch here:

I really love the background, so detailed and well rendered but I think the character is too dark. I know thats what your going for, the dark mood but the black is too in your face. I think maybe it would help if you darkened the cloak using different colours.

Man that Ivy in the background is incredible and so is that lighting. I do agree that it is a bit dark, or maybe the highlights around him are too bright. Also, it may just be me, but the head looks a bit small and the neck is too long. I am liking the hair a lot.
